Welcome to Bartow County Model Aviation
Established on June 16, 1988

2025-26 Gold Leader Club

This year, BCMA is celebrating our 38th Year Anniversary where many radio control model aviation enthusiasts continue to come together to support the participation in this hobby and like the AMA, we want this hobby to grow! The club is now located in the Kingston Downs Property, near Bartow County. The field is about 60 miles North/West of Atlanta and the gate entrance address is 502 Bass Ferry Road Rome GA 30161. Bartow County Model Aviation (BCMA) is a group of 70+ like-minded aviation enthusiasts ranging from teenagers through their 80's blending the craftsmanship of model building, use of innovative technologies, and honing the skills to safely fly model aircraft like Airplanes, EDF Jets, Gliders, Helicopters and multi-rotors Drones; using both battery-powered electric and fossil-fuel motors.

    Come join us for the 3rd EVENT of the 2026 EDF Jet Season on the East Coast

    Thursday, October 22nd - Saturday, October 24th in Rome Georgia!

    1 - The FLORIDA EJET FEST International in February...

    2 - The ORIGINAL EDF JETJAM in June...

    3 - And NOW... EJETS OVER GEORGIA in October...

     

    We offer the following amenities for the event:

    - DRY Camping - RV and tent camping sites are available-

    - Electrical Power available for charging batteries

    - Numerous hotels within 15-20 minutes from the flying site.

    - Jet Friendly Geotextile and Grass runways - An amazingly open flying site with 1000's of feet of overfly in any directions for your optimum EDF JET experience.

     

    For your convivence at the event, we offer:

    - Tent Rentals available (can purchase during registration)

    - Breakfast and Lunch available on site each day for purchase

    - Saturday Dinner - Get ready for some good old fashion Georgia style Southern Cooking after the awards / raffles

    - Arrivals on Wednesday, October 21st - Departures Sunday, October 25th OK

     

    Don't miss this exciting 3rd leg of the EDF Jet TRIFECTA on the East Coast this year. Fall in GA is the best time of year with 50's in the AM and 70's in the PM.

Our Flying Field

  • The ONLY access to the Field is by way of Bass Ferry Road STARTING from Hwy 411 and Biddy Road SE.
  • This is a gated entrance into the Kingston Downs property and requires an access code to open.
  • The field is located 1.5 miles from the gate.
  • Kingston Downs Property has a SPEED LIMIT of 25 mph.
  • Do Not exceed the speed limit and be aware of ALL Kingston Downs activities.
  • The runway is 600 feet long and 60 feet wide and oriented East to West. The pilot faces North so, the sun is rarely an issue.
  • The Geotexile Runway measures 385' x 45' which leaves approximately 50 feet overrun on the west side.
  • This leaves a Grass Runway along side the GeoTex that measures 550' x 60'.
